About Comox Valley

The office of our NIC president, John Bowman, is located at the Courtenay campus in the Comox Valley. This area includes the nearby towns of Comox and Cumberland. There is a rich Indigenous history to the area, as well as a natural history. There are approximately 63,000+ residents who live in the area and enjoy close proximity to the ocean, parklands, and Mount Washington. The mountain is a hub of activity, year round, from mountain biking to hiking and skiing. The quaint downtown of Courtenay lends a laid back, friendly charm to this valley city, with large shopping centres available on the outskirts.

About Campbell River

Campbell River is the third largest city on Vancouver Island, with a population of approximately 32,000. Nestled into the eastern shore of Vancouver Island, this is a city well known for its natural setting and oceanfront vistas. Residents here enjoy active, year round lifestyles in a vibrant and friendly community. Close to Comox Valley, the area enjoys a quick route to acclaimed tourist spots including Tofino, BC. The area is renowned salmon fishing, as well as a variety of wilderness adventures.
